I went through the obituaries almost line for line and found a huge number of blank spots in my data. Often they would mention married last names where I did not have the husband or call daughters as Mrs John Jones and I had her as married to an Unknown Jones, Often dates were specific where I had approximate dates. Grandchildren would be named and one could figure out who their parents were by the last name. Locations of the survivors abound and would make it easy to go to that location and trace that family line if interested. Visitors often had family connections at funerals. There were a number of misspellings. In my own case --my middle name is Byrne and it is never gotten right as even relatives do not know it exactly. I was named for a wealthy relative who was partner of a more Wealthy Speed family in Louisville who endowed an Art Museum and an Engineering school at U of L in Louisville. The name had been given to my grandfather first (Byrne) . Often middle names were mentioned where the data I had gave an initial. Grandparents were sometimes mentioned and the names of the female relatives could be connected. Sisters of the dead person and locations were often mentioned by married names and, sometimes, the full name of their husband. I believe there is quite a bit of Parr info that you have not recorded residing there, as well :-) Basically a find that I had not expected. Have you asked Janice or Jean about the possibility of some family pictures. I, recently, got out some family pictures of my grandmother who was present in a lot of my own early life as we lived with her in the first few years of my parents marriage. I was impressed as to how terribly ugly she was and I had never noted it before. Her mother (who outlived her), I had never seen as a younger person, was quite beautiful as a young person and quite old when I knew her. Her family was quite well to do and her brothers were quite striking in photos. Unfortunately noone had marked them as to which one they were and they will be lost because of lack of positive i.d. If they tire they can do the same and say unsubscribe and it will cut off. It is a good way to meet relatives. I would suggest a brief outline and querry occasionally sent to that source. This is an interesting search in that it seems to contain elements of the family of Frederick Severs of Muhlenberg Co KY and an unknown group of Severs another of the list readers is searching for. This search appears to connect the two groups geographically if no other way. Charles Severs the short group. I will outline a sketch that I have of them. Possibly another reader could tell any connection to the Muhlenberg Co Ky group of Frederick Severs (Rev War soldier) and Michael Severs (Sharpshooter hero of war of l812) of the same family. I was wondering if anyone knew who this couple was. A Kaiser cousin ran across them while searching for our Paralee Severs-Kaiser. The only information I have for them as of now is that they were married about 1839. WM Severs was born l752 and married Catherine Peck in Montgomery Co VA in l793. Their children all born in ANderson Co TN were Mary l795-6 maried WM Lamar, John born l798 married Rebecca Vandegriff and died in Nodaway Co MO. I would like to know more of the Vandergriff family, Wm Severs married and died in Newton Co MO after some stay in Arkansas about l840 for l0 years, Daniel H Severs born l800 and found in the Madison CO AL census of l850. Jacob Peck Severs born l809 and died in KY. Suspicious are George and Samuel Severs. Expect any missong ones to be forn l800-l815. Charles Severs
