I have information on the family of Daniel H Severs born l802 in TN but moved to Madison Co AL about l845 and remained there until death in l875. His family were all born in AL Children and grandchildren. This is an outline. I am looking for a living male desc. of this family for a dna test to prove something I have been working on for years. Charles Severs Note the last entries for some of the younger members as they were found as late as l900 in the census. I have not been able to find them later, however. Nancy was born Ca 1807 in TN and Matilda Bloyd was living with them and was born in MO. Presumably she was a granddaughter and a Bloyd had married a daughter. James is the right age for another sibling of William 1752 Severs and Catherine Peck Anyone have any data on James. I could not find him in the l850 census but he appears in the l870 census of MO. Likely an error on dates as Hugh M calculates to have been born when Daniel was 15 and that is a little close even for Severs. Many thanks Charles Severs

I just got back home from attending the above Reunion put on by Vesta Nadine Severs a desc of William Severs l797. William is a brother of John Severs l798, Jacob Peck Severs l809, Mary "Polly" Severs l795. The proof that WIlliam is a brother is lacking but the dna test matches assuring that he is related. He could be a son of a brother of William Severs l752 or other close relationship. The dates work well for him to be a son but that does NOT exclude the possibility that he is a nephew or other close relationship although candidates for any other parents are lacking. Others on the probable sibling list are Daniel Howe Severs born l802 and Charles Jackson Severs born l8ll both born in TN Near Knoxville and found in the l850 census of Madison Co AL, and Washington Co AR respectively. Daniel has a son named Hugh M Severs . Hugh is a name used by others in the family. There is another Hugh M Severs, in the family of John Severs l798. There is a Daniel H Severs and two Hugh Severs in my own lineage. I believe there is a Daniel Fletcher Severs in the lineage of John l798 as well. This would make Daniel a bit stronger candidate that Charles J. Some of the family in Newton County knew and referred to the son of Charles Jackson Severs named Frederick Ballard Severs 1835 and referred to as Captain Severs from his Civil War Service as a relative but they did not seem to know how he is related. A DNA test is possible as we have traced the lineage of Charles Jackson Severs l8ll to John Colt Severs who lives in California and a dna test will prove if that relationship is real or speculative and false. Vesta tells me that she plans a reunion in 2 years (2007 about July) . Plan to attend or send a family represenative. Jim, I find your SEVERS very interesting but can't shed any light on your question. I am Carolyn L. SEVERS, Berry Clouse and my documented SEVERS ancestor is William SEVERS born TN ca 1794-97. He moved to Newton County, MO, is in 1840 census there also 1850 and 1860. There is A Charles Jackson SEVERS who married Basima BALLARD who is suppose to have been born near Knoxville, TN in 1811 who comes to Washington County, AR by 1833[ some say 1830]. Our MO line is suppose to be related to the AR line but after 45 years of research I nor any one else has proven it. I sponsored My brother, Don in a Y DNA SEVIER and variant spelling, project at Family Tree DNA site some months ago. So far there are 2 SEVERS participating and he and I are trying to get more SEVERS involved. We are even offering to help any one pay the fee if the only reason stopping them is the cost. I am in correspondence to the AR SEVERS, BALLARD researcher and can tell you Basima BALLARD'S father and brother are named Thomas and they came from AL. My G, father, son of William, Francis Marion SEVERS Sr. born 1846 married Sarah Caroline LEWIS who's parents came to MO from Claiborne County, TN I saw the SEVERS in listed in the North in the IGI but don't know if or how my southern ones might be connected? Anyone know anything about the ancestry or more recent generations of this family I first found them in the l850 census of Madison Co AL and have been able to trace them for 3 generations and lost them. Thanks for the SEVERS info. My SEVERS line is documented by me to William SEVERS b. ca 1794-1797[age discrepancy in census] in TN. He moved to Neosho, Newton County,MO by 1840. He is in 1840, 1850 and 1860 federal census there. His descendants remain there down to the present generation. I, Carolyn[Carol] SEVERS, Berry, Clouse was born there. My mother is Edna SIBERT Ferguson, born Feb 3, 1921, Washington, PA. Her line starts in the USA with Johan Bernhard Seibert who migrated from Saarland (Germany) 1738 to the Lancaster PA area, then on to Strasburg, Virginia area in the Shenandoah valley about 1752 where he died in 1801. Two of his sons Adam and Isaac ended up in Greene County PA about 1805-1806. Isaac's son Isaac2 remained in Greene County. His son Isaac3 also lived in Greene County. His son James SIBERT moved to the County just to the north, Washington Co., PA. James was my mothers great grandfather.
