    1. Introduction ...
    2. Hi, I just joined this list so thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Gail, I live in Vacaville, CA. I definitely qualify as a Senior, but am not exactly a Newbie to computers, just to this fairly new Sony with AOL 9.0 Optimized SE which seems to have a mind of it's own. I was doing just fine with AOL 8.0, but there are so many differences now. Of course I've also moved up from Windows 98 to Windows XP. I'm afraid there were too many changes all at once for this Senior. But I keep trying ... Regards, Gail

    3. Welcome Gail They are a great lot of people here and so very helpful. I'm sure you will love XP. It took me a couple of weeks as I like being stuck in a rut and 98 suited me fine:-). But I wouldn't go back to it now. Eve Western Australia. > Hi, > > I just joined this list so thought I'd introduce myself. 3. Hi Gail, Welcome aboard, I'm sure you'll love this list. I also recently got a new computer and went from 98 to XP. The changes below make XP look more like 98, so they let me get used to the new computer's other differences without having the whole operating system look different also. And you can always change them back later on when you get used to the other differences. Setup Windows Options Right Click on Start Button Properties Put a "dot" in Classic Start Menu Task Bar Tab Ö Keep Taskbar on Top Ö Show Quick Launch Ö Show Clock OK ----------------------------------- My Computer/C: Tools (menu at top), Folder Options General Tab: Use Windows Classic Open Each Folder in Same Window or Open Each Folder In different WIndow View Tab - near the bottom of the list Ö "Show Control Panel in My Computer" Courtney ----- Original Message ----- From: <DUNCHIGH@aol.com> > Hi, > > I just joined this list so thought I'd introduce myself.
