We really do need to remember to be polite to one another. I can appreciate your frustration -- I, too, would have preferred to reply directly to Winnette rather than post a reply indirectly to several hundred list subscribers about a private matter. I really dislike spam filters that block mail in such a broad manner as this. Winn--I also can appreciate that you think what you are doing is keeping you safe from viruses, trojans, adware and spyware but it hasn't and won't. You really do need to be using a good anti-virus program that is kept updated religiously, good anti-spyware and adware checkers, and be running a good firewall to really be safe--then you won't have to take such draconian measures to safeguard your email. Anyone who is trying to use their computer for genealogy research really does need to be able to receive mail from strangers every now and then. I've met 2 second cousins and many more distant relatives in this manner--completely out of the blue. Not everyone subscribes to lists and not everyone will post publicly. How about people who find a message from you in a list's archives and attempt to contact you privately? They won't be able to do so. Yet, somehow the viruses and trojans can still get through just from visiting some websites and clicking on some bad links if you are not adequately protected. Joan
