I have in the past two months, I have gotten two trojan horse infections from Personal Genealogy Websites. The websites were results from Google searches. I was surprised the first time, but, not the 2nd time. I still use my spam blocker and only receive mail from those I regularly correspond with and even those are scanned before I open them. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Version: 7.0.322 / Virus Database: 267.3.0 - Release Date: 5/30/05
Instead of missing persons, I have people that I can not identify in what I thought was a well documented period in my Carson family. I began my research on my families when I was young. In facts I started gathering names while in High School. My grand parents, parents, aunts and uncles all answered my questions and told me about cousins, family reunions and the likes. However, I was stunned and perplexed when I found three unknown children,Tessie 14, Deuella 10 and Dorothy 6 Crum, listed as grandchildren on the 1910 Van Etten Chemung County in the household of my great-grandmother and her second husband Jesse Cornell. I can not find any of these Crum children either in 1900 or 1920. Hiram D and James C Carson two of her sons by her first marriage to Erastus Carson. Jesse Cornell who was also a brother of my other great grandmother has one son by his first marriage, had one son by his first marriage. Elizabeth has eight children by her first marriage , six sons and tow daughters. The older daughter Martha married a Fitzpatrick. The younger one was Charlotte and she married a Thornton and lives in Cortland County in 1920. However, I can not find her in 1900 or 1910. I can not find these Crum chidlren in anyother census. Any help or suggestion would be greatlyn appreciated. Thank You Marilyn Bess
Hi, Trojans and viruses are not the same thing. For a nice definition see http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/pfdocs/1999041209131148 ATK's Grannie wrote on 5/30/2005, 9:53 AM: > I have in the past two months, I have gotten two trojan horse infections > from Personal Genealogy Websites.
