When I opened up the computer this morning, I noticed a new Icon on the desk top. I have no idea how it got there. When I clicked on it the window that opened said HS_ERR_PID3284-NOTEPAD. I closed the window and sent the icon to the recycle bin. I have Windows XP and connected to hi-speed cable. Should I be concerned about this? Roy, this would have been an "error log" resulting from a problem in an application you have run (knowingly or unknowingly). I believe some Java based programs write these logs, but I have no idea "which" one on your machine caused it. No harm will have been done by deleting it.
