Looking for more help again please. Does someone know how I can organise my Favourites into alphabetical order please? I looked in organise Favourites but all it has is about creating folders and moving to folders. I use ME if this information is of any use. Also how can I copy them to a floppy please for backup {CD drive still out of action}. Help appreciated, Jenny.
Click on the favorites menu item, right click on the list and tell it to sort. As for copying to a floppy, do it the same way as to a CD. There is a folder clled favorites somewhere on your computer -- do a search -- and copy the whole folder to the floppy. Jenny, here are two excellent sites with well-illustrated steps on how to organize your Favorites: http://www.kpbsd.k12.ak.us/tutor/favorites/organize/default.htm http://www.websearchguide.ca/tools/IE5Win/adbkfram.htm This site illustrates the steps you need to take to "Export" your Favorites so that you can save them on a diskette: http://www.kpbsd.k12.ak.us/tutor/favorites/export/default.htm Another excellent way to manage your Favorites/Bookmarks without worrying about folders, sorting alphabetically, etc., is to use Powermarks. This is not a free program but it is worth its weight in gold for the time saving features it provides. It even has the option of exporting your Favorites to their site for backup and retrieval. It uses a similar technique Google uses in searching. You just type in a word or words and Powermarks finds any URL's matching your search. Beats wading through dozens of folders. I have over 3000 bookmarks and it will find any one of those in a matter of seconds: http://www.kaylon.com/power.html Lance P. S. Check out Legacy Family Tree today!
