MicroSoft's errors have never been very clear, and all those numbers afterwards would only mean something to their technical guru's - for the rest of us they are just numbers :-) In case you're wondering, no it wouldn't help to send these numbers to them - they may use them to bug check their OS but you'd not get any feedback about your problem, that not what the numbers are for. SH> LUCOMSERVER_2_6 caused an invalid page fault This means a memory error - the program has tried to access memory that either doesn't exist or it shouldn't be using. If a re-boot of the PC doesn't cure it then the likely problem is a corrupt program and in such cases it needs to be re-installed. As has been stated, this is part of Symantec Live Update so it seems there's someone else here that is having trouble in that area. Wonder if there's been a problem at Symantec with their update servers sending out bad data to some folks? We'd never get to know, the thing is for those affected to know how to fix it. So you either need to update Live Update manually, or remove your Norton and re-install it. If you already have the latest Live Update then you'll need to remove it totally using Add/Remove Programs before re-installing, may be easier just to remove the whole of Norton and put it back. HTH and Good Luck getting it fixed :-) -- Best regards, Barry mailto:barry@yobunny.co.uk MicroSoft Free Zone running Xandros 2.0 Deluxe
Thanks, Barry. After running AdAware, Spybot, SpySubtract, and resEdit, I rebooted with Norton Internet Security off and the problem has so far not come back. Only time will tell. If you've left NIS off then you will need to run a different Firewall such as Zone Alarm. Whatever you do though, don't have them both running at the same time - it'll cause problems with your PC running slow and also can crash out the whole system. -- Best regards, Barry mailto:barry@yobunny.co.uk MicroSoft Free Zone running Xandros 2.0 Deluxe
