When I try to open the CD it tells me to what files are currently on the CD. When I try to open them I get this message: Windows cannot open this file: File: DATA.DIR Select a program from the list: This is what I get: rns, 1817-1820

 I am new to genealogy, the computer and researching. I have not been able to open any of the CD'S to see what is on them. Remember I am new to all of this. I have Windows XP home edition, & internet explorer. How would I access the CD from the internet explorer? I have the following driveswhen I click my computer: CD -RW Drive (F) DVD Drive (E) Not CDROM (D) I have tried accessing from the internet browser. Sorry to be so "thick headed" Valerie
