    1. AVG Anti-Virus Icon Grey-out.

    3. Hi all, I'm asking for help again please if anyone can do so. The AVG Anti-Virus Icon in my task bar has greyed out and I get a message telling me that the Internal Virus Database is out of date but when I try to update, a message appears each time telling me the update was unsuccessful. I also get a message asking me to restart the computer which I've tried numerous times, but the icon stays grayed out. Uninstalling then reinstalling AVG doesn't change these things. Can anyone help please? Regards, Jenny.

    3. Jenny, I would uninstall AVG and then re-install it. Something is blocking the AVG update and the most likely reason is a Firewall - whichever one you use, check in the rules list for anything to do with AVG and remove it. Then let the Firewall re-detect AVG needing access. HTH -- Best regards, Barry mailto:barry@yobunny.co.uk MicroSoft Free Zone running Xandros 2.0 Deluxe
