    3. I have not used AVG -- but it seems to me that the mail scanner would not be activated UNTIL your e-mail program is running -- when you turn on the computer, the e-mail program is not running hence the message. Try this -- start up your computer, ignore the message, and then activate your e-mail program, then check and see whether the scanner is working. No, I am not on the Internet yet. Do you mean when I activate the email scanner? Yes, I am on the Internet, but the next time I turn on the computer, (while not yet on the Internet), I get the message again. Thanks. 3. AVG should be activated as soon as you turn on your computer. I have mine set to automatically do a Boot_Up scan and then at a certain time every day it does and update and thorough virus scan. 3. I use AVG and have a permanent broadband connection to the internet. I do not get the mmessage, so it looks like you need the connection to get the e-mail scanner active.
