I go to the control panel and activate it, and it will say it is fully functional. It stays this way until I turn off the computer, but the next time I turn it on, it is not activated again. Can someone tell me why? Thanks. I can't really answer the question about AVG but I can tell you that most anti-virus programs cannot scan incoming email if that incoming email is AOL's email. AOL's email isn't actually downloaded to your computer unless you choose to save it to your computer and, therefore, most virus scans can't read it. AOL pre-scans all incoming mail and attachments for viruses with McAfee on their own servers. Joan
