    3. Hi Ruth. I have emails in my deleted folder from back in 2003. So I guess there is no limit. I have about 3,000 and am deleting again.....slow but sure! As to Microsoft Word. It came with my Windows XP....I think you were asking about it. I also have Word Pad which came with the XP Home edition package. Are you asking for help with using the computer? In addition to Senior Newbie, I bought "Teach Yourself Visually....the fast and easy way to learn" It is all about Windows XP and is EASY to follow. It is filled with pictures that take you step by step if you have a problem. Of course NO book will tell you everything, but I have gotten along pretty well with this book. It covers both Home and Professional Editions of Windows XP. 3. Keeping unwanted messages in mail programs tends to slow the program down. It is best to empty the Deleted Items folder regularly. Archiving old messages is another way of reducing the size. These sites can help with suggestions in that area: http://www.oeupdates.com/Archive-Outlook-Express-Email.html http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/faqs/how.htm#archive The more messages you retain in OE, the longer it takes to load and react. Keep it lean and clean is a good habit to maintain. Incidentally, Ruth, Windows XP does not include MS Word. It would have been installed as a separate program on your computer by the supplier. WordPad, however, has been an integral part of Windows in many versions. Lance P. S. Check out Legacy Family Tree today! 3. Tools, Options, Maintenance - check mark in Empty messages from the Deleted items folder on exit It might take a minute or so the first time since you have so many in there. You can delete some of them before closing the program by going to the bottom one, hold the shift key, then go up about 50 messages and click on one of those, then click Delete Courtney ----- Original Message ----- From: "Len/Ruth Brummett" <brummett@sigecom.net> > Hi Ruth.
