AntiVirus not turned on? I also get this first thing as Windows and its accessory programs are first loading. (I use Norton AntiVirus.) In my case this is part of the Microsoft XP Security System. It is saying that because XP checks to see what security you have running. And if your AntiVirus has not completed loading, then XP gives you an error message. But if you check later (after the computer has finished loading), then your AntiVirus is active. Just a comment here. The first thing I do, after my computer is finished loading is I manually check for up-dates to my AntiVirus program. Always the very first thing before I check for messages!!! So, if I understood you correctly, the answer to the question you asked is just that one part of your computer is ahead of the rest. And I am not aware of you being able to specify the loading sequence of your system. So you did good by noticing the error and asking. But I suspect you are OK!!!
