    3. Not to "my pictures".... I saved it as a .jpg file, made in PaintShopPro8, and it showed up in My documents.... but, when i did finally get it into the email (i'm not exactly sure of what I did do) it was absolutely HUGE.... I didn't care to send it that way, so I just deleted the whole thing... figuring I could just start over.... Will try again, using my pictures... Thanks, PAX NancyT ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Warnock" <twojays@tik.com.au> To: <SENIOR-NEWBIE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, April 13, 2005 9:17 PM Subject: Re: [SR-NEWBIE] RE: picture by email Hi Nancy --have you saved your picture to "My Pictures" Folder in My Documents" ?? John from West Aus ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nancy Tollefson" <mamat@gvtel.com> To: <SENIOR-NEWBIE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, April 13, 2005 11:59 PM Subject: [SR-NEWBIE] RE: picture by email Hi, back on April 9, John Warnock answered a question about sending a picture BY email...he said.... "In windowsXP just select the picture you wish to send, then on the left side you will see --Email this file --- click on this then choose the small size to send, and picture will appear in an email form as an attachement, but also in the body of the email when it arrives. All you have to do is enter the address.." Well, I tried this, and I sure didn't get far.... I had saved the photo I wanted to send as a .jpg file made in PaintShopPro8.... I didn't see any "email this file" or "small size" to click on....I got Picture greyed out... then hit html, and got ONE HUGE PHOTO, so backed off.... What am I missing here? I get photos in emails all the time... so it can't be that horrendously difficult, why am I having such an awful time doing it??? There was also something said about going to an online "Email picture guide" Where is that?? 3. When you save as a jpeg you should be able top set the compression and quality. This will reduce the size of the mage. I normally use 50% compression and medium resolution. This gives me jpegs well under megabyte, normally 50Kbytes from a 10cm x 15 cm print.
