Hello Listers. My friend has AOL. She thought she set up a second mailbox in her own name, on her husband's account. Up to this time, they both used his mailbox. She can't send or receive mail through her own mailbox. Below is what she said. Might there be someone out there who can help her? Believe me, we both will be VERY grateful if you can. Thanks in advance, Grace in Georgia, USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ They tell me in SIGN ON, i'm to click into SWITCH NAME which ought to show the new name, upon which i click SWITCH, again... you guessed it ... NOTHING... and SINCE that icon SWITCH isn't on my screen, i cannot send or receive my own emails under my new screen name. IN ADDITION, THEY SAY that SWITCH icon reveals 'a yellow envelope' beside it telling me whether i have any mail... NOTHING... which doesn't make sense to me since i notified all of my friends of this change... surely, one or more would have REPLIED by now ??? [I have sent emails to her new screen name ... but she can't get them. Grace] So, i'm wondering about something else .... Grace, DO YOU KNOW whether i should have typed in my husband's password that he has on this account for my own password since my new screen name is on this same account ??? Or doesn't this make any difference since electronically THEY KNOW this to be MY connection ??? I've assumed THEY KNOW I did choose my own password when setting up my own new screen name... AOL did return an email to me saying that i was 'okayed'... but WHERE'S MY mail going ??? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
