Why do you need ActiveX enabled to access Google or Yahoo? I use Firefox which doesn't allow ActiveX (without a plugin) and I can access those sites. However, to enable ActiveX controls in IE these are the steps, but be very wary of having ActiveX enabled permanently: 1. Click on Tools menu 2. Click Internet Options 3. Click on the "Security" tab 4. Click on the "Custom Level..." button 5. Optimally you want to set the first five options under "ActiveX controls as follows (the three marked for "Enable or Prompt" must be set to one of those): * Download signed ActiveX: Enable or Prompt * Download unsigned ActiveX: Disable * Initialize and Script AxtiveX controls not marked as safe: Disable * Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins: Enable or Prompt * Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting: Enable or Prompt 6. Scroll down until you see the section labeled "Scripting" - set all 3 options under that section (Active Scripting, Allow paste operations via script, and Scripting of Java applets) to either "Enable" or "Prompt" 7. Click the "OK" button twice to save settings and close the Internet Options dialog box Whether that applies to IE when using AOL, I do not know as I have never had anything to do with AOL. You may have to contact them if you can. You can see a definition of ActiveX here (note the "risk" it refers to): http://www.pcwebopaedia.com/TERM/A/ActiveX_control.html Lance On 7/24/05, Jococity@aol.com <Jococity@aol.com> wrote: > Hello List, > > I am trying to find out how to enable "Active X" with the Internet Explorer > through AOL.
