Hi Nancy! At least you are off to a good start :-). There are numerous ways to create your own file of helpful links. Bookmarks/favorites are of course the best way to "save" valuable links. And the best way to use those, as I have mentioned before is to use PowerMarks: http://www.kaylon.com/power.html. The reason for that is that PowerMarks lets you quickly access long-stored (or forgotten!) helpful sites. It works in a similar fashion to a Google search. Just type in a word or phrase about what you are searching for and PowerMarks hunts down all entries referring to that word or phrase. There is no need to place URL's in "folders". They can all be "lumped" together - saves time :-). Now when you come across a helpful link in a message, you can either click on it so that it opens in your browser. Then you can save it in bookmarks/favorites (if you have PowerMarks it is automatically added there too). Or, you can "copy and paste" the URL by highlighting it then pressing CTRL-C. After that you can "paste" it into a Notepad file for safe keeping, or even into a message in OE which you can then save (for ever and a day) in DRAFTS for easy access. You mentioned saving phone numbers too. Well, you can't add those to bookmarks/favorites (at least to have them show), but you can easily create an address in Outlook Express (or any other mail program) for the particular name and phone number. Entries in OE's address book don't necessarily have to have an email address - any address is acceptable. You can even add additional notes about the reason for keeping this phone number by clicking the OTHER tab when creating a new entry. On that page there is a NOTES window. You can type anything in there relevant to the new address. Other mail programs would have something similar I should imagine (Outlook does). You could even add a URL into the OTHER|NOTES window also. I mentioned adding phone numbers in bookmarks and having them show. Well, you can "enter" a phone number (or anything else for that matter, in a bookmark, simply by selecting one in your list, right click it and select PROPERTIES. You will see an editable box titled DESCRIPTION. You can type a phone number or anything else in there. It won't "show" nor can you search for it, but at least you have it recorded in an appropriate spot as a reference. In PowerMarks, however, you can enter a phone number in "Keywords" in the Properties of an entry and it will locate the entry the phone number is linked to. I didn't really need to keep the whole note, just the addy... Would you please tell me how I do that??? I suppose, I'd better put something Like "Help - outlook express" on it, so I know what it's for... I feel like a real dummy, but I'm still a bit foggy on the whole folders-and-files thing... I looked it up in my "Absolute Beginner's Guide to MS Windows XP", but didn't see anything that really applied here... (don't know if this is where this question goes, but the url is here, ....so..) Thanks, MUCH!!!
