    3. Harold, if your Yahoo account is receiving that much spam, you do have a problem. I consider it a problem if I receive two or more a day through Yahoo mail! I think the simplest solution for you to do is abandon this account. Set up new accounts for the specific addresses you need, even using a different address for each specific purpose. DON'T use a name or any word in your address. I made the mistake with this GMail account of using my name. It is the only GMail account I receive the occasional spam on, and, also because I use this one for Roots Web lists (spammers love the lists at Roots Web!). Create an address using both alpha and numerical symbols. That tends to confuse the spam harvesters. It won't guarantee you won't get spam, but it certainly increases the odds a great deal. The other thing you can do is use Mailwasher PRO to examine your mail BEFORE you download it. Yes, I realize you are using Yahoo, but you can download Yahoo Mail into your email program using YPOPs http://yahoopops.sourceforge.net/ YPOPs allows you POP3 access to your Yahoo mail and it's free. If you set up your Yahoo account in Mailwasher PRO, you can "train" it to prevent spam and other unwanted mail getting through: http://entier.ecosm.com/system/redir.php?ad=15&aid=2359 Do this after you create your new addresses, though. Of course, you can use GMail, too, which has excellent spam filters. The occasional spam I have received in this account is always picked up by GMail and shunted off into the Spam folder where they are deleted after 30 days (if I don't do it first!). The advantage of GMail over the other web mail services is that they now have 2 GB+ of storage - more than enough for the average user I would think. It also has excellent search facilities. Let me know off-list if you would like a GMail invitation. You can read about GMail here: http://gmail.google.com/gmail/help/about.html Lance P. S. Check out Legacy Family Tree today! (rec'd 450 from Friday pm to Monday am) Other than deleting 25 at the time (I use Yahoo) over to trash, is there any quicker way to delete the entire file at one time. If I leave them in the trash bin, will it eventually be deleted by the system, if not what happens when the trash become overfull. I have the spam guard system turned on but this does not seem to help. Any suggestions other than deleting this address and changing to another url. Harold

    3. Yahoo mail has a spam filter, I turned it off because I pop the mail into my mail program and K9 filters spam to my own mail program. But for those reading yahoo at the website turn on the spam filter and the spam should go to that folder. Elaine
