I want to let everyone know that finally changing the mouse has returned my hyperactive computer to its normal state. We first switched mouses with another computer; that did not work. We changed the batteries in the former mouse; that did not work. Finally, we located a mouse from an old computer, installed it and that did work! Looks like both our computer mouses (mice?) were on verge of failing, or had failed in case of mine, so we need to go mouse-shopping. We so appreciate the time and help of everyone who took his/her time to write and advise us. And btw: for about a half hour, re-booting also did slow down the computer action. Many thanks.
