    3. Barry: I did what you suggested. I printed a TEST PAGE and it looked alright. But the printer window still says FAX. Now what? The printer was in Ready status. What do I have to do to clear out the BF> FAX, so I can print. Usually whatever these multi-function devices are set to locally it doesn't disable the computer doing anything else such as printing or scanning. Can you print a test page if you go to [ Start / Control Panel / Printer and Other Hardware / Printers ] and then Right Click on the printer icon and select 'Properties' the 'Print a Test Page' ? Also what does the 'Status' of the printer show. It should be 'Ready' and 0 jobs pending. -- Best regards, Barry mailto:barry@yobunny.co.uk MicroSoft Free Zone running Ubuntu 9.10'Karmic' ********* Visit the threaded archives of this list: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/SENIOR-NEWBIE ********* ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to SENIOR-NEWBIE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
