    1. [SR-NEWBIE] Windows installer
    2. Barry, I found that the msiserver was there. I clicked on it and found that \Windows\System32\msiexec.exe/V was not there but it does have one that is almost the same. It is %systemroot%\system32\msiexec /V Is that it? Also in \Windows\System32\msiexec.exe/V is there suppose to be a space after msiexec.exe before you put /V Also are the " " suppose to be there? I have created the manuel restore point. ____________________________________________________________ ADT Official Site Consumers Digest Best Buy. 3. Hello Bob, Monday, August 17, 2009, 11:47:47 PM, you wrote: bjc> I found that the msiserver was there. It is bjc> %systemroot%\system32\msiexec /V Is that it? %systemroot% is the same as C:\Windows so yes that's the correct one and if this appears in the registry then it looks like the actual file on the Hard Drive is missing / damaged. bjc> Also in \Windows\System32\msiexec.exe/V is there suppose to be a bjc> space after msiexec.exe before you put /V Also are the " " bjc> suppose to be there? Yes there's a space between msiexec.exe and /V - as for the quotes I don't think these are required looking at the link below but if you type the line in and the quotes appear then leave them. bjc> I have created the manuel restore point. What you may have to do is manually overwrite the msiexec.exe file with the correct one, more information in the MicroSoft link below along with another link to download the installer again if the fixes in the first link don't work. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315346 -- Best regards, Barry mailto:barry@yobunny.co.uk MicroSoft Free Zone running Ubuntu 9.04 'Jaunty'
