Barry, I tryed putting a new folder on the desktop and then copyed a file and put it in the new folder. Then tryed to edit it and it would not edit. Also the "open for editing" was not lite up either. I did transfer both folders and files when I did the re install. The folders are the same, if I open the folder and then open the files inside it is still the same. I can not edit them. What was this before I did the re install that I had to "open for editing" on every file that I had in "Documents". I would open the file but I could not add or delete anything until I went to "File" and clicked on "open for editing". When the computer was new I did not have to do this. Somewhere along the line something changed. Are the files maybe somehow marked as read only ? Right click on one, check the properties, and if read only is checked, uncheck it Courtney sitnah@cox.net ----- Original Message ----- From: <bobzmail@juno.com> > Barry, > I tryed putting a new folder on the desktop and then > copyed a file and put it in the new folder.
