Lloyd, May I ask why you are trying to use such an old, insecure version of Adobe Reader? The current version is 9.3.3. There are patches even for it about once a month to fix an insecurity! Here are the system requirements for Windows OS: Windows Intel® 1.3 GHz processor or equivalent Microsoft® Windows® 2000 with Service Pack 4, Windows Server® 2003, 2008 and 2008 R2; Windows XP® Professional, Home Edition, or Tablet PC Edition with Service Pack 2 or 3 (32-bit and 64-bit); Windows Vista® Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise Service Pack 1 or 2 (32-bit and 64-bit), Microsoft Windows 7 Starter, Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate or Enterprise (32-bit and 64-bit) 128MB of RAM (256MB recommended) 335MB of available hard disk space (additional space required for installation) Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, 6.0 with Service Pack 1, 7.0 or 8.0, Firefox 2.0, 3.0, 3.5 or 3.6 If you download this it is about 50 MB so would take a while even on broadband, and longer with dialup. I suspect if you have tried this and Foxit without success, there may be something wrong with the file on the other end (the store). Are you POSITIVE it is a .pdf file you are trying to download. Are you trying to download or having it open on the web site, then trying to save it to your computer, then open? Surely the store site has a means of "support" for problems with their web site -- you may have to resort to contacting them......... Cora I just installed Adobe Reader and am trying to download a printable PDF version of a statement from a Department Store online but after a couple of minutes of doing nothing the done message showes up in the lower left corner of the screen. I have tried it with both Firefox and IE with the same results. I have been using Foxit Reader, but I would get an error message every time I tried to download the PDF statement, so I uninstalled it and installed Adobe Reader. Can someone tell me how to get Firefox and IE to reconize Adobe Reader as the default PDF Reader? Lloyd
