    1. Re: [SR-NEWBIE] restore in vista
    2. I've never had a failure to restore due to a stated "error". It just wouldn't go back to a restore point. My problem was with Norton Internet Security apparently preventing it. To get around that, I had to restart in Safe Mode, and then do a restore. Then a restore would be successful. In fact, I had a "recovered from a serious problem" this morning, and my Norton wouldn't run. I did a restore per above, and all is well now. But I sort of doubt that a restore will recover your missing file. Might try looking in the recycle bin to see if by wild chance it went there, and then try doing a search for the on your computer, but without the 3 digit extension (in case if given a tmp or bak extension). Not likely that will succeed, but worth a shot. Woody ==================== , [email protected] writes: I have lost a file. I tryed system restore with several restore points that I have. It always comes back with this message. "system restor did not complete successfully do to an error" Is there a way to find this error? I have run Spybot, Adaware, and Malwarebytes. They did not find anything out of the usual cookies. I do not know what happen to this file. It was there last night when I shut the computer off. When I started it up this morning it was missing.
