Bev- I'm a little confused here...gmail is what you are using for your email. I'm not clear on what you mean about "subscribing to a new Web site?" Do you just mean that when you click a link in an email it opens the AOL browser or what? On Firefox 3.6 you could click on TOOLS > OPTIONS > ADVANCED > GENERAL and check the box for System Defaults to always check on start up that Firefox is the default browser.
