Thanks for the idea, Janem but I removed all of my previous programs so I am sure its the only one and it does show up and respond if I want to download anything. I can't figure out how to get HP to give me the answer either. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Sent: Thu, May 13, 2010 6:14 pm Subject: Re: [SR-NEWBIE] HP total care advisor I wonder if your problem could be similar to one I noted with my AOL McAfee Suite. Recently I got a notice that I should update a new program from McAfee called Scan Plus--so I did. It now scans in addition to the McAfee Suite scans. I learned it is not a replacement or update for my McAfee Suite--it's an extra level of protection. However, when I open the Scan Plus it tells me I'm not protected with regard to Web sites and the Internet--only for everything else and provides a link for me to click to buy the extra Internet/Web protection. BUT...when I open the McAfee Suite it shows I'm protected for EVERYTHING including the Internet. So it would only be if I wanted EXTRA protection that I'd need to buy the Scan Plus Web protection. Joan PS: So basically I'm wondering if you have multiple programs on your computer. In a message dated 5/13/2010 6:25:52 P.M. When I click on it, it actually sends me to the Norton site to buy the product that I already have. Any suggestions on how to correct this or do I just ignore it. ********* Visit the threaded archives of this list: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/SENIOR-NEWBIE ********* ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
May I suggest you all save your money & take advantage of one of the free anti-virus programs; Avast or AVG.
