Hi Bev! I received Windows 7, the cadilac version (don't remember the exact name) as a gift from my son-in-law. I've worked my way thru on the Windows. This is the easiest to use. It runs fast and smooth. When you install it, it offers you a guide but I didn't spend much time using it. It does all sorts of clever things that I never use. I basically use my laptop to do genealogy and download and print some things I need for my business. I also check for workshops and business leads on line, file my income tax, and keep my personal and business accounting up to date. I got my first computer in 1994. I would consider myself to be an intermediate user. I definitely belong on this list as I am 69, pushing 70. So don't be afraid of it. Learning new things keeps our minds agile. (It was Windows 2000 pro. It worked beautifully then suddenly kept locking up. So, I finally told my guru to put in 7. Now I will have 3 hard drives. Any advice on using 7? I ordered a book titled 'Windows 7 for dummies'. Plus the guru said he will fix 7 to look like 2000. -- Bev Carlson ********* Visit the threaded archives of this list: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/SENIOR-NEWBIE ********* ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
