Thanks everyone for the help disabling the touchpad on my Gateway NV59. I never did find a disable button or Synaptic in the control panel > mouse section. I used every function key combination (alt, sp, ctrl etc) I could find. Nothing worked. Cleaned the keyboard and touched an area above the keyboard and there it was. Right next to the wireless connection button. I knew it was on here somewhere, just couldn't find it. Seems like the newer the system or computer the harder to find some of the functions.
