Hi Donna, I have a Gateway NV54 and use a mouse without disengaging anything; however, try going to Control Panel, Mouse, Device Settings, and tick the Disable if it shows your touchpad. I have contacted Gateway, Logictech and Windows.  No one seems to have a solution. Windows says it is not a Windows problem, Gateway says contact Logictec and Logictec says contact Gateway. This problem is taking all the fun out of using my computer.  I am not comfortable using the touchpad and would prefer using the mouse. Thanks in advance for any help offer.
