Arrrrgh!!!! Sorry for the unintended sending of my last e-mail. Hoo-boy. Anyways, what I wanted to say was for those that remain on Facebook, do NOT join the "Facebook Gold" fan club or "account". That is some kind of scam/hoax that has no connection at all to Facebook. In fact, it takes one to an external web site. Those 1400+ "wowie this is great" comments to the side are extracted and inserted (stolen) from another site. One can't even make a comment on the page, so how can anyone else? Go to the Facebook "help center" and enter "Facebook Gold" or "Gold", and there are numerous entries with "What is Facebook Gold" and related entries. So stay away from it. I'm passing this along because I've seen friends drawn into it, and I don't want anyone being duped by this scam/hoax. Woody ==================== , [email protected] writes: We thank everyone who wrote and instructed us on removing ourselves from Facebook. Many thanks. As we closed our account, a Facebook team message was emailed to us (in essence; not direct quote) that anytime we wished to return we could, and things would be just as they are today. Do I understand this message to mean that our information is permanently stored on Facebook? This effort to use a venue such as Facebook has been another learning experiece for us. In conclusion, I think the problem is that we did not fully understand the purpose of Facebook. Considerably after the fact, we have read its statements of purpose. TIA Rana
