There are some links you may have clicked in error to invite everyone in your address book and by clicking the links you would have granted Facebook access to your AOL address book---otherwise they do not access your information on your computer. As for the Facebook apps -- it the posts from the apps coming through the newsfeed bother you and/or you are not playing the particular game...when a friend's Farmville or Mafia Wars or whatever app post comes through the feed just hover your mouse over the post until you see the word HIDE in the upper corner of the post. Click it and you will see a drop down menu where you can select apps you want to block from your feed. Click whichever one you want to block and you won't see it again. I find the "apps" games people play particularly annoying. For getting out of Facebook, I finally found two keywords to quit. Go to "Help" and enter "deactivation". That gives the "how-to" for both "deactivation" and "deletion". What you want is "deletion" rather than "deactivation". I also quickly learned that all of those many people that invited you to be their friend -- didn't. That's a Facebook trick. Facebook goes through your address book and looks for matching e-mail addresses, and then the people in your address book that are Facebook members supposedly "invite" you to be their friend. I have several e-mail addresses, and "somehow" I invited myself to be my friend. I declined. Woody

I appreciate your time and help.
