After trying a known good working power cable ( i.e. the one in the monitor, assuming this powers up OK ) then the chances are it's the power supply inside the box that's gone. These can be replaced so it's not new PC time ... well, not yet anyway <lol> Another thing that can prevent powering up is shorted USB ports so check these carefully with a magnifying glass. Any damage inside is suspect and with care the internal bits can be straightened out to clear the short but the socket will not be usable any more. In the same sort of direction, unplug all USB devices anyway as a fault in one of those can do the same thing. If it is just the power unit then this can be replaced by a local tech pretty reasonably or you could even do the job yourself if you are OK working with screwdrivers and opening up the PC case. Not a problem if you aren't sure about it, just mentioning as on the scale of PC fixing it's about as simple as it gets :-) -- Best regards, Barry mailto:[email protected] MicroSoft Free Zone running Ubuntu 9.10'Karmic'
