I have Word 97, but it should work the same. In the "Find and Replace" box where it says "Find what", put in the symbol < (or < ) Then in the "Replace with" box, leave empty or enter a space. Press the "Replace" button. And if that doesn't work, there should be instructions in the "Help". Enter "find". That may come up with "find and replace" guidance or something similar. The instructions were clear, concise and worked wonderfully well with Word '03. Our son has given us Office '07 and the instructions do not work with Word '07 and that is because we do not yet know how to use the program. Will someone who knows how to remove email formatting marks from an email saved as Word '07 document please tell us how to accomplish that feat? (These marks < and > are those I term formatting marks.) TIA Rana
Thanks, Woody, I will give it a try. Woody, Some years ago on this List, I learned about a free program I could download that was called "Cut it Out". I really did like it, but when my old computer quit I lost it. I can't find it again. It was very easy to use in getting rid of things like those "formatting marks". Have you heard of it? I'd love to find it and download it again.
