Within the last six months or so, our external Maxtor hard drive has begun switching from Drive G to Drive H. (This is an automatic event as neither of us knows how do accomplish such a feat.) Most of the programs we have, or most of the backups we wish to do, do not accommodate/acknowledge Drive H. In other words, most of our backups cannot be done directly to Maxtor on Drive H. We have to save to a desktop folder then drag the folder to Maxtor. This does not happen when Maxtor is in Drive G. We just recently defragged and ran diskck on the Maxtor, never before having known to do that. Question: How do we insure our Maxtor stays in Drive G? Can this be done?
