I am having lots of problems with my computer--slow, AV and firewall programs not working properly, etc. I ran CCleaner and dumped the list it brought up. The computer is still working very poorly. Is it possible to reverse CCleaner? I have tried to uninstall Avira AV in order to reinstall it, but I can't find any components of it. Since it was one of the startup programs, I keep getting a message about it every time I turn on the computer. It keeps telling me it is "unable to find file ccplg.xml". And I can't redownload an AV program or a firewall. I have restored the system, too, but no help. Thanks for any advice. </HTML>

No you can't reverse the deletions that CCleaner makes - but you shouldn't need to as these are all junk files that do no good anyway. Can you try starting up in Safe Mode with Networking ( keep tapping the [F8] key during startup to get the menu for this ) and then run an on-line virus scan at one or more of the links below ? http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ http://www.kaspersky.co.uk/virusscanner http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner I suspect you have some malware still running and one of the above should be able to remove it. -- Best regards, Barry mailto:[email protected] MicroSoft Free Zone running Ubuntu 10.04 'Lucid' 64bit

Hi, My sister is using Vista and Windows Mail. After she deletes emails, empties deleted email folder, the emails are still on her hard drive. I googled and for POP3 accounts, it just shows the normal, delete, empty deleted. But the files are still there when she does a search. I use XP and outlook express and I do not find any deleted emails on my hard drive when I search. Any help would be appreciated - (I did ccleaner on her computer and it didn't get them either). Thanks, Mary

It could be that what's been picked up is just a reference to e-mails that have been opened and not the actual e-mail itself. Or does she find the the entire mail and it's contents are still there in the same location where they were supposedly deleted from ? If so, then the delete isn't actually completing and that can be a problem with Windows Mail itself. -- Best regards, Barry mailto:[email protected] MicroSoft Free Zone running Ubuntu 10.04 'Lucid' 64bit
