One of our computers is about two-three years old running Vista, 32 bit. While trying to install a HP printer, I apparently did something wrong and the computer would not let me move from the site, close the page or even shut down the computer. After twelve minutes, I shut off the computer manually. Since then the computer comes on with choices for starting: safe mode, another choice I have forgotten, and normal start, so three choices. On normal start we can log on but the computer will not do anything after that. No program will open; IE7 will open but not display web page. The computer automatically did a disk check/repair but still the computer refuses to: 1. start normally sans the fanfare and choices; 2. operate any program. Please advise in simple terms if possible. Can we remedy this matter ourselves? TIA Rana
