You need one Anti-Virus program, one firewall program ( which may be included in the Anti-Virus package - ignore the Windows firewall ! ), more than one anti-malware program ( again the Anti-Virus package may include one but it's worth adding one or two more ). Also worthwhile changing your web browser to Firefox but whether you do or stay with Internet Explorer it's a good idea to install the Web Of Trust add-on to boost protection. -- Best regards, Barry mailto:barry@yobunny.co.uk MicroSoft Free Zone running Ubuntu 9.04 'Jaunty'

If you used a credit card for the purchase it would be prudent to consider it compromised and get it stopped / replaced too !! -- Best regards, Barry mailto:barry@yobunny.co.uk MicroSoft Free Zone running Ubuntu 9.04 'Jaunty'

You will need the COA licence key too which should be on a sticker on the case somewhere. Easy enough to spot as it has a string of numbers on it which is you licence ( 25 digits in 5 blocks of 5 ). However, if it's a factory restore CD then all you can do with it is to put the system back to as it was delivered - i.e. erase all your data. -- Best regards, Barry mailto:barry@yobunny.co.uk MicroSoft Free Zone running Ubuntu 9.04 'Jaunty'

Vista does have a high number of processes normally and this is one of the reasons it needs more RAM to run well.
