Lost My Favorites and cannot remember how to resize a photo. I know it is very simple, but could someone remind me of the procedure? Thank you.
Maryellen, I've used The Master Genealogist since...well... forever it seems. The number of people it can handle is, for all practical purposes, unlimited. The limit is the size of your hard drive and it is said that it can handle 1 billion people. It is perhaps the most customizable genealogy program on the market. They provide excellent customer service and have a very active users Forum. I've had no real problems with it You owe it to yourself to try it out. They offer a 30 free trial download. ----- Original Message ----- From: Mcanfora@aol.com To: senior-newbie@rootsweb.com Sent: Tuesday, October 20, 2009 9:14:14 PM GMT -08:00 US/Canada Pacific Subject: [SR-NEWBIE] Genealogy Software Some months back I received a message about the differences among several genealogy software programs, but I can't remember if it was from this list. However, I thought I would post my question anyway in the hope that someone would have helpful advice. That earlier message stated that Family Treemaker became unstable at a point where the database became overloaded, i.e., 50,000 names. I believe that the recommended alternative software program was either The Master Genealogist or Legacy. If anyone is familiar with any of these programs and could advise on the most dependable one for storing the information of over 50,000 individuals, I would appreciate a discussion here. Presently I am using Family Treemaker Version 8 and I'm afraid to upgrade until I get more information from various experienced sources. I had no idea what the program was. Googling took me to a download site for V5.4. When I looked at the operating systems that it would run on, it gave me these: Operating system: Windows 95, Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows 98 So if you're running XP or Vista, that might be the problem. Might try uninstalling and restalling and see what happens. I dunno. Woody ======================== Joenoro@wmconnect.com writes: I am not understanding this.
