Good morning. Can you transfer a program - i.e. Microsoft Money - with a transfer cable? My niece got a new computer but Microsoft Money is no longer available. She does not have the CD with the program from the old computer. I know I can transfer the data with a flash drive to the new computer but it won't do any good without the program. Thanks, Mary.

Patricia, I went to Google and typed in Portrait Jewelry in Celluloid, and a gazillion sites come up. Check it out. Yes,I sent my email to senior newbie without the right click procedure. > If it's a real pain and happens all the time then that's a different > issue to whether it only happens on a few addresses so it's important > to know :-) As I subscribe to a number of genealogy lists it often arises that a particular topic presents that I can either help with or would like to know more about and participants in that topic leave their email address(s).It is at this point that I left click on the email address and get the Yahoo invitation ....... right clicking allows me to copy the address which I paste into a new (create) email circumstance which is a pain in the elbow. > JT> I have searched through my PC using just the word 'Yahoo' ... > > With Yahoo there's is little stored on the user's PC apart from the > program itself, all the files and e-mails etc are stored on Yahoo's > web servers and that's why it requires a login step to use the > service. I have a problem with Yahoo What happens typically is (and for instance) ... I subscribe to the Hants-Kingsclere genealogy list and,as with other sites, one gets input about families etc and an email address should one want to contact the person needing help or more information etc. When I left click onto that email address I get this; https://login.yahoo.com/config/login_verify2?.intl=us&.src=ym&.done=http%3a%2f%2fcompose.mail.yahoo.com%2f%3fTo%3dmailto%253Agregross%2540forgandenny.fsworld.co.uk When I right click on the email address I get a dialogue which invites me to copy the email address which I do and after this I 'Create Mail' and paste the address into the new mail message then write message and send. So the end justifies the means but Yahoo has created such a lot of nonsense to go through to get there. I have searched through my PC using just the word 'Yahoo' and found just one folder which was created in 1999 that has about 120 files in it all waiting to be either copied or extracted ......... which I wont do ......... but there is no provision to delete any individual file nor the complete folder. In 1999 I was using W98 and have been using WXP since it became available. Any input would be much appreciated Joe ..... who at 82+ is no 'techie'

This link explains where this has come from and some ideas on why it appeared - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Nstmp_folders Basically it's a temporary folder that is created whilst Thunderbird does some housekeeping and is normally deleted when completed, however if this housekeeping is interrupted then the temporary folder isn't removed ( i.e. Thunderbird 'forgets' that it made it <lol> ). You are safe to delete it and the link above has some ideas about how to prevent it in future :-) -- Best regards, Barry mailto:barry@yobunny.co.uk MicroSoft Free Zone running Ubuntu 9.10'Karmic'
nstmp (8) This above showed up today as a folder in my Thunderbird account. Without thinking, I clicked on it and it appears to be copies of some of my emails from the inbox. I have not yet determined that some are/are not deleted emails. What is this? Where did it come from? Thunderbird, Firefox, Windows XPpro, SP3. Thanks for guidance/advice. Rana

Eureka! I think I've found it! I, too, have been frustrated by the very same problem..."Where is the EDIT button on IE8." In short, open IE8, if the Edit menu does not appear, press the ALT key to display it. To turn menus on permanently, click the Tools button, point to Toolbars, and then click Menu Bar . I found this info in Windows Help and Support. Following are excerpts from there: To find information on a webpage 1.. Click to open Internet Explorer. 2.. Click the Edit menu, and then click Find on this Page to display the text box on the tab row. 3.. In the text box on the tab tow, type the word or phrase you want to find on this page. The number of matches found will appear next to the Options button, and the page will automatically scroll to the first occurrence of the word or phrase. 4.. To go to the next or previous instance of the word or phrase, click the Next or Previous button. Notes a.. If the Edit menu does not appear, press the ALT key to display it. To turn menus on permanently, see Show the menus in Internet Explorer. a.. You can also use keyboard shortcuts to find text on a webpage, and to navigate to the next or previous instance of that text. To display the text box on the tab row so that you can find text on a webpage, press CTRL+F. Press ENTER to go to the next word or phrase found on the page, and press SHIFT+ENTER to go to the previous word or phrase. To display the menus permanently 1.. Click to open Internet Explorer. 2.. In Internet Explorer 8, click the Tools button, point to Toolbars, and then click Menu Bar. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Benner" <benner3@suscom-maine.net> To: <senior-newbie@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, January 10, 2010 8:47 AM Subject: [SR-NEWBIE] Where is EDIT button on I.E. 8? >
Hello, I am still running Internet Explorer Seven, (IE-7). I've downloaded IE-8 a couple of times but only to uninstall afterwards because I can't find the feature that I value most. I use my computer composing and writing text. Sometimes I have to search for a certain term, word, or name within my text documents or on a long running volumous document on the web. I use the EDIT button to search for that certain word or phrase. It saves me tons of time, as I would have to actual read that entire text to find what I was looking for. the EDIT button is on the top left of my computer screen in IE-7. When needed, I click on it and a little menu pops down and then I click on FIND, and then TEXT IN THIS MESSAGE. If IE-8 has this feature, where is it located? Thank you!
Emma- You didn't say which browser you are using for Facebook. The Time Warner and AOL split wouldn't be the cause of your slow computer --nothing has really changed in how AOL and its browser function. However, if you are using the AOL integrated IE browser for Facebook I'd recommend using Firefox instead. Firefox works MUCH better with Facebook and is much faster (I hear Google Chrome is even faster but I haven't used it personally). AOL's IE fails miserably with Facebook and its apps--but you can use Firefox and AOL's browser at the same time (have both open) and use the AOL browser for other sites while you are on Facebook and the apps with Firefox. Also, since Firefox (or Chrome) are independent browsers and not a part of the AOL software using them has no effect on anything you might be doing on AOL with your AOL program open -- like checking email for example.
