Yesterday I wanted to look at one of Rod Neeps Archive CD Books. There was no problem except when it came to taking the CD out of the drawer the drawer would not open so I did the 'paper clip trick' to do so. The drawer no longer works so I rebooted the PC and got a dialogue that 'The Secondary Drive 0 Not Found' so I assume that this refers to the CD drawer. Fixing the problem is beyond my ken ........ I am too ancient. So what is necessary to correct this .......... is it likely to cost an arm and a leg or would I be better off getting a new PC? The PC which I have is a Dell Dimension 4600 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4CPU 2.80GHz 2.79GHz with 2.00 GB of RAM (whatever all that means!!) with plenty of space and it works very well. Any advice would be appreciated. Joe

I didn't know the answer, so I Googled on the following term: e-mail links don't work and this came up as one potential fix: http://www.infopackets.com/news/internet/2003/20030522_web_links_in_outlook_ express_dont_work_part_3.htm Sounds like it ought to work. That oughta do until someone else comes up with a better response. Hi: I have another problem. I just installed a new Epson Stylus NX420 printer/scanner. Now when I bring up my system Vista Home Edition I get this message continuously until I get the internet up (Firefox). HPPhotosmartessential.msi Bill Forshay - San Antonio, TX
When receiving emails with a blue section in it to click onto to bring up some information, I click onto it but nothing happens, can someone please give me some advice. With Thanks. Ron C, West Oz
Woody, Some years ago on this List, I learned about a free program I could download that was called "Cut it Out". I really did like it, but when my old computer quit I lost it. I can't find it again. It was very easy to use in getting rid of things like those "formatting marks". Have you heard of it? I'd love to find it and download it again. Thanks, Velma ________________________________ From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Sat, July 3, 2010 7:19:01 PM Subject: Re: [SR-NEWBIE] removal of formatting marks I have Word 97, but it should work the same. In the "Find and Replace" box where it says "Find what", put in the symbol < (or < ) Then in the "Replace with" box, leave empty or enter a space. Press the "Replace" button. And if that doesn't work, there should be instructions in the "Help". Enter "find". That may come up with "find and replace" guidance or something similar. I have a few spreadsheets which include notes that I want to send to a friend. The size of each sheet is not more than 45kb. Whenever I do something new (as this is for me) I road test first by sending it to my own email address. It works OK except that the notes are not included. I need some help with this one please. Joe
