    2. Lloyd Hite
    3. Hello List, I am using Chrome 12.0.712.0. This morning I downloaded 12.0.733.0, but when I went to install it, it would not install. The mouse pointer would change to an hourglass for a few seconds then nothing. I waited 5 minutes to see if anything would happen. No luck. I even copied the file to my External HD and tried to open it. No luck there either. I had no problem installing the version I am using nor any previous version I have installed. Could it be some kind of security Google has built in this version of Chrome? 3. Barry, again, many, many thanks. We did install Windows live email but no request for the feeds, so am going to do as you instruct. We had used Thunderbird quite successfully on XP, but installing it on Windows 7 presents a major problem in that email cannot be sent out. Email arrives, but will not go out. With our limited knowledge we tried everything recommended on the Thunderbird/windows 7 installation pages but it simply would not send emails for us so reluctantly we tried Live.com. Again, many thanks. You can't actually unsubscribe from Live.com - all you can do is uninstall the thing and stop using it. Eventually the account will be put into suspension for non-use and ultimately deleted. Also when you install Windows Live it brings in all the other 'Windows Live' bits such as the photo gallery and makes them the default. You can go into [ Start / Control / Uninstall a Program ] and remove Windows Live which will allow you to select which bits you want to get rid of ( or all of it !! ). As for an e-mail client - try Thunderbird ( www.thunderbird.com ) -- Best regards, Barry mailto:[email protected] MicroSoft Free Zone running Ubuntu 10.04 'Lucid' 64bit

See if that helps. I've also learned that downloading a program doesn't mean it will automatically will work. In Windows 7 you need to go to your 1. documents 2. downloaded 3. click on what you downloaded to 'open it up'. (I also downloaded Firefox 4 & had to 'open it up'. If so then there's a problem with this and Firefox 4 - the two just don't get on well and Norton will need to fix it with an update as it's nothing to do with Firefox itself. Also did you upgrade your existing Firefox or do a clean install ? Some add-ons for earlier versions are not compatible yet, though you should have been warned about this in the installation. -- Best regards, Barry mailto:[email protected] MicroSoft Free Zone running Ubuntu 10.04 'Lucid' 64bit
