    1. [SR-NEWBIE] How to change drives in Win7, 64 bit
    2. RickandRana
    3. Barry, you once told us how to change our backup drive to Z when we were using XP. Now we have a problem with the backup drive in win7, 64 bit and do not know whether to use the same instructions-----if we can find them on Win7. All backup devices are assigned drive l by the computer. We use external Maxtor, My Passport and flash drive DataTraveler. Whenever we plug in either for any backup, it goes to drive l. If we are sitting here and backing up one or two items, no problem, but with automatic backup schedule there is a problem. When automatic backup is supposed to come on and do its backup, it is stuck on Maxtor even though I have highlighted My Passport on drive l. It seems the thing to do would be to assign each backup device to a different drive. Are we correct? If so, how do we proceed? TIA Rick Powell

    3. Thanks anyway y'all... I went to System Restore and changed the date back to the beginning of July. Everything is working fine now... I'm scanning with Malwarebytes and then I'll scan with AVG. 3. I hope this helps you. 1. From my "My Documents" folder ...     I get to the proper folder screen that displays the photo listing I want to print. 2. I depress the "Prt Scr" key on my keyboard (has the effect of making a "copy" of the listing). 3. I open my "Paint" software.     I place my cursor at the beginning left corner of the blank text area.     I depress the "Ctrl" and the "V" together (has the effect of "paste" or dropping the listing in). 4. While in my "Paint" software ...     I click on "Save As" (to save the pasted copy of the picture of my photo documents listing).     In the "Paint" software "Save As" window ...     I scroll to the "C:" drive and open the "My Documents" folder ...     then I "name" the pasted copy of the photo listing as a "JPG" file ....     (example: Pics-Doe-Jane-n-John.jpg) ...     then I click on "Save". 5. I close my "Paint" software. 6. From my "My Documents" folder ....     I get to the folder that contains the file of the Paint picture (example: Pics-Doe-Jane-n-John.jpg). 7. Open the Paint picture file ....     and print it.   I have done this before but forget how.  I find it more and more necessary to  write myself instructions for everything, but I didn't for this, so hope someone can advise me. I have a lot of photographs and I want to print a list of them.  I know how to convert the icons to a list but only find how to print the pictures themselves after that.  I'm sure there is a very simple way but I can't come up with it now. I appreciate any help.</HTML> ********* Visit the threaded archives of this list: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/SENIOR-NEWBIE ********* ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> To: [email protected]; [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, June 15, 2011 2:58 PM Subject: [SR-NEWBIE] Printing photo list

    2. Lloyd
    3. Hello List, I have gone back to using Eudora 7.1 after several months of using Thunderbird Mail. I had to reinstall Eudora from my saved downloaded file and as I seems to remember, you could sort your addresses by last name in the address book as well as by first name. Now, I cannot find how to sort by last name. It sorts by first name by default. Can someone help me with this problem, please? 1. [SR-NEWBIE] A peculiar color and size change on monitor
    2. RickandRana
    3. 3 days ago, I was trying to change a photo and somehow ended up in Paint. I did not intend to do that so do not know what I touched to get there. Since that day, when we turn on this computer the screen is filled with oversized icons, wild and strange colorations with total distorition of all items.About four icons are able to be fit onto the screen. Print size is about triple the norm somewhat rsembling word art sixes and some styles. Until tonight, by rebooting, the screen and contents returned to normal-appearance; however, tonight, and four re-boots later, the screen is back to normal _but_ the print is so small I can barely read what i am typing. I receive messages to use parts of Windows I have never heard of so am reluctant to try any Windows-generated instruction without guidance. Also, Windows advised me to restore to day before these changes. I have input so much data that I am reluctant to use restore unless there is no other solution. What caused this to happen? How to I set font size/print to where it was? I think we use Calibri 11 point. TIA Windows 7 is difficult for us. Rick Powell

It could be that what's been picked up is just a reference to e-mails that have been opened and not the actual e-mail itself. Or does she find the the entire mail and it's contents are still there in the same location where they were supposedly deleted from ? If so, then the delete isn't actually completing and that can be a problem with Windows Mail itself. -- Best regards, Barry mailto:[email protected] MicroSoft Free Zone running Ubuntu 10.04 'Lucid' 64bit

    3. Hi, My sister is using Vista and Windows Mail. After she deletes emails, empties deleted email folder, the emails are still on her hard drive. I googled and for POP3 accounts, it just shows the normal, delete, empty deleted. But the files are still there when she does a search. I use XP and outlook express and I do not find any deleted emails on my hard drive when I search. Any help would be appreciated - (I did ccleaner on her computer and it didn't get them either). The usual way is to click an hold on a blank space on the task bar and drag it to where you want it to be ( top / bottom / sides ) and let go but if the dock gets in the way you'll have to close the dock first. When you have the task bar where you want it, right click on a blank space and select the option to lock it. This just means it can't be moved, it doesn't mean things cannot be added / removed from it :-) -- Best regards, Barry mailto:[email protected] MicroSoft Free Zone running Ubuntu 10.04 'Lucid' 64bit

    1. [SR-NEWBIE] How to change drive in Windows7
    2. RickandRana
    3. On this list, there were once found instructions as to changing the drive on which the backup device was used. I have lost that instruction and need help again. On this 64 bit computer, I cannot get my _Passport_ backup device to switch from drive L to one used by FTM 2010. (FTM recognizes/uses only Drives D and L). How do I do that? I have read the Archives to no avail and am not sure the instruction would be the same for XP as for Windows7. TIA Rana

    3. Turned on the computer to find the taskbar at the top of the desktop page rather than its usual placement at page bottom. It is behind the Dock so cannot read half of the programs and when I do click to open a program the Dock topic opens. How do I get the taskbar with its programs/features to return to bottom of page where it has always been? Windows 7, Home Premiun, 64 bit TIA Rick Powell
