Thanks. I didn't realize it would do that. I had been deleting about 50 - 100 at a time! Many thanks to all of you for helping with this problem. Several of your suggestions worked just fine! Senior-Newbies came through for us again!!! Ruth in IN
Thanks, Ruth, for bringing up this question - I never thought about it but checked and had over 2000. Followed the instructions ................then clicked the delete button ...............all gone! Ruth in NJ
May I suggest for those using Outlook Express that you go to Tools>Options>Send and unclick "save sent messages" ? I don't do that because i really do want to save mine, but if you don't, that's the simple solution. Regards, Sharyn
And also remember that the control key will remove the highlight from a message you want to retain. Elaine Life takes its toll. Have exact change ready! Ruth: Click on the first message you want to delete to highlight it. Hold down the shift key and hold down the Down Arrow key. When all of those you want to delete are highlighted, hit the delete key. There may be a quicker way to "highlight all" but I'm not sure I recall what it is. Richard P. Fairfax, VA

Many > thanks. > Ruth in IN > Ruth , The way I delete read emails and sent emails is .... open sent or read mails you want to delete ... hold down Shift key Hover pointer while holding down left clicker and this will highlight all of them and then click delete .... Actually this method will work for anything you want to highlight and delete . Just like in bodies of e mails that you only want to send or forward parts of it . good luck , hope this works for you ... gerri
Ruth, Highlight the first one that you want to delete. Scroll down to the last one. Hold down the shift key and click on the last one. It should highlight all of them. Then click delete. Another way is to highlight the 1st one. Then holding down the ctrl key click on each one. Each message clicked on should now be highlighted. Then hit the delete key. Hope this helps a bit. Pete- I'm not sure what you mean by this? What does Google history have to do with what version of AOL you use or even what email program you use? I suspect we are talking about apples and oranges. Ellen at ELLEN542@aol.com writes: << I use google several times a day and thought I would check out my history also. Nothing there......how come? >> Ellen, Same for me. I think the answer might be "because we use AOL". That means we are free from the curse of Outlook and Outlook Express. It's possible that the newer AOL versions (I use 5.0) may have complicated things - again - and may have that google history problem. I do have my computer set to clear temp. files and history each time I shut-down (nightly), so that would certainly take care of google's history, I'd guess. But, while it's up and running, I can use the dropdown listing next to the URL window to access all of the websites I've visited since I've signed-on. Sort of a history. But I'm on and off several times a day, so the history never amounts to much. I try to keep things simple. Pete Schermerhorn, in the glorious Berkshire hills of western Massachusetts

Hi, back on April 9, John Warnock answered a question about sending a picture BY email...he said.... "In windowsXP just select the picture you wish to send, then on the left side you will see --Email this file --- click on this then choose the small size to send, and picture will appear in an email form as an attachement, but also in the body of the email when it arrives. All you have to do is enter the address.." Well, I tried this, and I sure didn't get far.... I had saved the photo I wanted to send as a .jpg file made in PaintShopPro8.... I didn't see any "email this file" or "small size" to click on....I got Picture greyed out... then hit html, and got ONE HUGE PHOTO, so backed off.... What am I missing here? I get photos in emails all the time... so it can't be that horrendously difficult, why am I having such an awful time doing it??? There was also something said about going to an online "Email picture guide" Where is that?? Thanks, PAX NancyT

I use google several times a day and thought I would check out my history also. Nothing there......how come? Ellen
Yes, it worked.......thank you, thank you, thank you.....every single one of you!!!!!!!! Ruth in NJ
YEA!!! It works. Funny thing is, I didn't even know the list was there. It's at least a mile long!! :) > > 1. Go to Google. > 2. Click in the place where you enter your search words. Ruth <lrfoster@joimail.com> wrote: > Thank you Richard for the instructions - unfortunately did not work. > Am using Windows 98...........any other suggestions? > Ruth in NJ Ellen's suggestion is probably easier anyway. But I can't figure out why what I said won't work. Works here. 1. Go to Google. 2. Click in the place where you enter your search words. A list of previous searches will appear. 3. Click on any you don't want to highlight them. 4, Press the delete key. That should remove the search words. Richard
