    3. When you save as a jpeg you should be able top set the compression and quality. This will reduce the size of the mage. I normally use 50% compression and medium resolution. This gives me jpegs well under megabyte, normally 50Kbytes from a 10cm x 15 cm print. 3. Actually, if you just highlight the first message, then scroll to the bottom of the list, then hold down the SHIFT key as you click on the last message, they will all then be highlighted ready for deletion. To avoid sending all those to the DELETED ITEMS folder, keep holding the SHIFT key down as you press the DELETE key. To be selective about messages you wish to delete, hold down the CTRL key as you scroll through the messages using the DOWN ARROW and only press DELETE on the individual messages you wish to delete. When you are finished, hold down the SHIFT key and press DELETE. Only the selected messages will be deleted. Lance P. S. Check out Legacy Family Tree today! 2. Sorry, folks: I forgot to mention Internet Explorer, along with my "curse" comment on Outlook and Outlook Express. The curse is that the virus writers seem to concentrate on the more-commonly-used Microsoft products, and leave computer users like me alone. I don't use any of those three products, and thus - perhaps - am more immune to hackers (although I understand the AOL combined-web browser does have IE as part of its base design?). But no one has yet explained the lack of a "google history trail" to Ellen or me. Pete Schermerhorn, in the glorious Berkshire hills of western Massachusetts

    3. Hi Pete. Ruth from IN here. Could you tell me more about the "google history" you mentioned below. I have just yesterday created a gmail account. Does this mean that I will be more vulnerable to hackers? Is there any protection? I am using Windows XP, Internet Explorer and Outlook Express. Thanks. 3. One additional refinement to Lance's suggestion: You don't even have to scroll down the list. Press CTR-Home and that will take you to the first message in a folder. Click on it. Then press CTR-End and that will take you to the end. Hold down the shift key and click on the last one. Everything in between should be highlighted. 3. Hi Gerri...............DELETE EVERY DAY!! is my new motto! Deleting 6,000 emails is quite a monumental task, but the suggestions are really great! I only deleted about 50 - 100 at a time because my fingers got tired of holding down Controll and clicking on each email.
