    3. Aha!!! I think I now know what caused the AOL e-mail system to change. Until maybe September or the first part of October, I had AOL 8.0. At that time I decided to download 9.0. Is this one of the differences in the two programs? If it is, I'm deleting 9.0 and going back to 8.0. Vicki Lance <lance.b.4u@gmail.com> wrote: Vicki, with your Yahoo account, you have several options available to you to deal with spam as well as clicking on the SPAM button after you have selected a message. When you have the Yahoo Mail screen open, click on MAIL OPTIONS up there on the right hand side. When the Mail Options page opens there are four links under the SPAM heading. Check each of those out and you will see this enables you to do many things to even further reduce the spam coming in. Read the information on the Anti-spam Resource centre page first as it will give you some help in setting up your filters, black list etc. Lance P. S. Check out Legacy Family Tree today! 3. Ok, I assume Sigecom would be your ISP, but then how do you also have an "AOL email" (address)? Do you have a subscription to AOL as well? As for spam, well, there is very little you can do about it. Yahoo have excellent spam filters in place and normally pickup such messages. However, they do get through on occasions and what you need to do then is mark them as "SPAM" so that Yahoo can learn to recognize them as such. You don't need to open the message in Yahoo when you spot one you think is spam. Select the message (tick the box in front of its listing). Then just click on the button labelled SPAM (above the message list). Yahoo will record it as such and move it to TRASH for you to delete from there. In my experience, reporting spam to "abuse@<name of isp>.com" has very little effect on the general flow of spam. This is because the majority of spam originates from forged addresses. Lance P. S. 2. Thank, Barry and Lance, for your input on the above problem. Everything seems to be okay with Ad-Aware, now. However, I seem to have another problem. All my "Saved on my PC" files have disappeared. Now when I try to save something to my PC, I just get the chance to save it in the Incoming/Saved Mail file, the list of mail I have sent, or allowing me to set up a new file. My "switch screen names" disappeared for a while, too, but I managed to get it back--finally. I had lots of important information saved here, and I would really like to get it back. Can you tell me how, and/or explain what is happening? Thanks for the help and the patience. I am slowly, (or maybe not so slowly), going out of my mind. I surely do not know what is going on.

    3. Vicki, your "ISP" is usually the bit after the "@" in your normal address. You are using Yahoo Mail, as a web mail service, to send and receive, but you would be connecting to the Internet (normally) and Yahoo through your "ISP". Who do you pay your monthly account to for connecting to the Internet? That should have the name, address and contact number/email address for "Support" on it. Lance P. S. 3. Lance: my cable internet is provided by Sigecom. Is this what you mean? What I'm wanting to do is notify them of the virus's that are coming into my mailbox. My AOL e-mail isn't receiving any of these...only the yahoo address. Thank goodness, I've not opened any. They have a German subject line. Is anyone else having this problem? Would this be how I would handle this or is there another road I should take. TIA, Vicki Lance <lance.b.4u@gmail.com> wrote: Vicki, your "ISP" is usually the bit after the "@" in your normal address. You are using Yahoo Mail, as a web mail service, to send and receive, but you would be connecting to the Internet (normally) and Yahoo through your "ISP". Who do you pay your monthly account to for connecting to the Internet? That should have the name, address and contact number/email address for "Support" on it. Lance P. S.
