    2. Ct allows members of the CT Society of Genealogists to do research in the vital records, so you either need to join and do it or hire a member to do it for you. Years ago I did find a brother for a sister who was adopted. Seeking info on a baby boy born in Hartford, CT., probably in 1918 who was given the name: SOLOMON GUSBERG. He was an inmate in the Municipal Hospital and Alms House in Hartford in the 1920 census with many others all wit : "mothers unknown". My mother Clara, was the only GUSBERG in CT. at that time and the child was probably hers but the CT. Vital Records refuses to release any info on this child suggesting to me that he was adopted and may be my half brother. I have written to everyone who I thought could help including Sen. Liberman to no avail. Can anyone help me? I am of advancing age and declining health so can't perform my own on-site research. Peter McCue peter19252000@optonline.net

    3. Nancy, I'm not entirely clear on what you are asking. If you are asking what to do with the old pictures once you have saved them to a new folder, then I would say ,yes, delete the old ones. Pictures are generally large files, and there would be no need to have duplicates. To delete most anything, right click it and choose delete. You can also highlight a file, choose Edit from the top menu and then choose delete. One of the things that helped me most was to realize there is almost always more than one way to do anything on a computer. Hope this s helps. Mary -- No virus found in this outgoing message. 2. Lance
    3. Floreda, when you are downloading from your memory stick, you have to take note just "where" the images are being saved to on your hard drive. Most likely, you're my Pictures folder may have been selected by default, or perhaps even MY documents. So check those out. If you download images you have already saved, your computer will alert you to this fact, suggesting you use another name to save them as. This, too, will give you a "clue" as to where you saved the first lot :-). Once the images have been downloaded, you can clear them from the memory stick by using the delete feature in your camera. Here are some sites which may give you some ideas of the process: http://school.edcentre.ca/resources/info10/module7a/lesson1.html http://www.coe.uh.edu/courses/photo/class2/class2.html#transfer http://www.seniorsnetwork.co.uk/digitalphoto/cameratopc.htm http://scs.k12.mi.us/hs/classes/safe_computing_how_to.htm http://www.thirdage.com/features/tech/booster/saving/ While not specifically about images, here are a couple of good tutorials on file saving which may be of help too: http://scs.k12.mi.us/hs/classes/safe_computing_how_to.htm http://www.thirdage.com/features/tech/booster/saving/ Lance P. The memory stick I am using (my first) says it is Folder 101msdcf. I downloaded it to my computer and sure enough the folder is as stated by the camera. I have since taken more pictures and want to download the whole thing (so I can delete the pictures from the memory stick and start all over). Questions: If I redownload the memory stick, what will happen to the pictures I have already downloaded? Can I rename the already downloaded folder and thus, when I download again it will go into 101msdef? (I am such a milktoast when it comes to anything that sounds complicated) Floreda
