An optical mouse is very sensitive to any small aberrations on the mouse pad. Make sure the surface of your mouse pad is spotless. Small flecks or even a crumb will affect its operation. Also use a cotton bud to clean the "eye" underneath the mouse. Dust and other minute particles can adhere there too. Lance P. S. Check out Legacy Family Tree today! Hello Helen: Mouse Clicks: Go to: Start > Control Panel > Mouse (or Printers and Other Hardware, then Mouse) > Choose the "Activities" Tab and go to the "double-Click Speed. You need to make the double click speed slower. You can experiment with the Double-Click speed in the "Test Area". When you are satisfied, just escape out of where you are. I think this will help with your mail deletions. Everytime I receive an email with an attachment, when I try to open the attachment, I see these words "OE has removed the unsafe contents". What can I do so that OE will not remove the contents of my attachments. Marilyn

Helen Helen- I don't know either because I don't have that type of mouse--that would eliminate the possibility of dirt in the ball part (the part that slides) of the mouse but I would think the "clicker" could still be sticking. Sounds like the contact point on the mouse might be sticking or dirty. You might try taking the mouse apart and cleaning it--not while the computer is on, of course. Joan

For those using Firefox and who would like the ZOOM extension, it can be installed from: https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=139 And for those not using Firefox and who would like this feature to use with it, you can download Firefox from here: http://getfirefox.com/ Lance (I was asked this off-list). Thanks Gerri but the magnifier that comes with Windows XP is just too clumsy. I'm happy to get my "old" magnifier back and to learn about the scroll wheel!
You can open your Wordperfect files in MS Word. Just insert the floppy disk. Open your Word program, then click FILE|OPEN and browse to your A:\ drive. Make sure that All Files (*.*) is selected in the Files of Type. Select the file to open. Then click OPEN. MS Word will then convert your file. Save it as an "RTF" file to have it available in the future. You could be infected with the Trojan called Backdoor.Sdbot.B. If so, Symantec have some information here on what steps to take: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/backdoor.sdbot.b.html You may be lucky enough to get around it by doing a System Restore, first, back to a date BEFORE this trouble started. You will still need to do a good scan with an AV program though after the restore. Now here is another interesting one! iZoom: This magnifies the WHOLE screen! I haven't tried this one but certainly would be ideal for those with vision impairment. It's free too: http://www.issist.com/index.asp?page=iZoom The only caveat they mention is that a good graphics card would be ideal to have, to really appreciate the benefit. This could be the one you are looking for: VIRTUAL MAGNIFYING GLASS: http://magnifier.sourceforge.net/ It's free. Of course, you can also enlarge/decrease text by using the CTRL button and the scroll wheel on your mouse. Just hold down the CTRL button and scroll the wheel - either backwards or forwards. You could change to using Firefox as your browser as it has an extension allowing you to "ZOOM IN" or "ZOOM OUT" on images. SUCCESS. Thank you. At least it worked on the most important document. Haven't checked out others yet, wanted to say thank you. My experience just a little different from your instructions. The doc did open in Word but to save it I had to copy and paste it into a new word document. Thank you again.
