Check to see if the sound for the player has been muted / turned down by right clicking on the speaker icon and choosing [ Open Volume Controls ]. There will be a bunch of volume sliders and also a check box at the bottom for muting. Make sure there are none of these boxes with a cross in them and the volume sliders aren't at the bottom. -- Best regards, Barry mailto:barry@yobunny.co.uk MicroSoft Free Zone running Xandros 2.0 Deluxe

If you are able to open and interpret the FULL EXPANDED message headers to see where the spam actually originated you can try reporting that either to your own ISP or to the originating ISP. I'd caution against reporting to the originating ISP unless you know for sure they are not a "spamhouse" themselves. I made that mistake once years ago reporting a spammer to an ISP in Hong Kong and ended up getting mail bombed by the spammer. :( So unless you really know what you are doing you are better off just deleting it. If it is a scam though--you might want to report it to the government at: uce@ftc.gov . I think I have that address correct--if not I'm sure someone will correct me. Joan

    2. Lance
    3. Bob, in Task Manager, when you have Internet Explorer open, you will see it listed in APPLICATIONS with the recognizable blue "Ie" icon. When you click on the PROCESSES tab, you see it listed again as "iexplorer.exe", that is, the executable file (or Process) that allows IE to run. If you have two or more instances of IE running (IE doesn't have tabbed browsing like Firefox), you will see that there are two or more entries under both APPLICATIONS and PROCESSES (what you said you are seeing). You have nothing to worry about it. It certainly is part of IE. If you really want to see at anytime just what processes are running and where they are actually on your hard drive, there is a handy utility called PrcView which will allow you to view those processes: http://www.xmlsp.com/pview/prcview.htm It gives a listing of the running processes and lists their path to find them in Explorer. 3. Bob, "Iexplore" is INTERNET EXPLORER - you have probably confused the uppercase "I" with the lowercase "l". If you look closely, it should be "iexplore". 3. Floreda, to add or remove headings, just place your cursor in the headings area (above the messages). Right click and from the context menu, select CUSTOMIZE CURRENT VIEW. When that window opens click the top box FIELDS. In that window, you will see a little box at the top showing FREQUENTLY USED FIELDS. Click the little arrow at the right hand end and on the context menu which opens, scroll down to ALL MAIL FIELDS and select it. Now you will see on the right hand side all your current column headings. On the left hand side you will see all the other headings you can add. Scroll to SUBJECT select it and then click ADD (in the middle of the two panes). You will now see SUBJECT at the bottom of the right hand listing. To re-order the columns, you just highlight one of the headings in the list on the right and use the MOVE UP or MOVE DOWN buttons down near the bottom of the listing. When you are satisfied they are as you want them, click OK and when you go back to the main screen, your columns will be as you want them. Just remember, that you can sort your messages by each of those headings, simply by left clicking next to column name. Then you can reverse the order of the messages using that heading by clicking once again.
