Not something that a browser should pop up on its own and tell you, especially with a 'click here to fix' link! Recommend getting Malware Bytes (link below) and running a full scan of the system. Note that Malware Bytes will install as a 14 day trial of the paid version but you can revert to the free one at the end of this. https://www.malwarebytes.com/ -- Best regards, Barry mailto:barry@yobunny.co.uk MicroSoft Free Zone running Linux Mint 17.3 KDE

    3. Yes everything else connects. Also when I travel my laptop connects to wi fi, it is only at home when it does not work ----- Original Message ----- From: "senior-newbie" <senior-newbie@rootsweb.com> To: "senior-newbie" <senior-newbie@rootsweb.com> Cc: "Joan Young" <jyoung6180@aol.com> Sent: Tuesday, August 27, 2019 8:25:21 PM Subject: [SR-NEWBIE] Re: wireless Do you have a smart phone and if so does it connect by wi-fi to the router and if so does IT work? When I set my combo up I had to "name" my router/wi-fi. When I click on my laptop wi-fi a list comes up of any and all available wi-fi options and tells me if they are open/public or secured. If secured and I select my router name it then asks for the password I set up for the router. Once I enter than and click to connect it doesn't ask me again...it just connects me. Worked the same for my laptop and phone. Your router should be "secured" meaning there is a password protecting it. Assuming you know your password you should be able to click on the wi-fi options for your laptop and click to enter the password and once that is done you should be connected...same for your Smartphone under settings.
